The Cyprus Development Bank (CDB) was founded in 1963 as a company to promote economic development in Cyprus. The main shareholders were the Republic of Cyprus and the European Investment Bank. In June 2007, the government of Cyprus expressed interest in the allocation of its stake. In 2008, the bank was completely privatized and no longer belongs to Cyprus as the state
