AS "Meridian Trade Bank" is Latvian universal bank serving corporate and private clients, successfully operating for 20 years and every year is expanding the range of financial services of the European level. Joint-stock company AS "Meridian Trade Bank" started its activities as AS "Multibanka" and was registered in 1994. Its predecessor - Latvian branch of Vneshekonombank of the USSR - was formed in 1988, and it was nationalized and became the Foreign Operations Department of the Bank of Latvia in 1991. In 1995, AS "Multibanka" was combined with AS "LTN Skonto Banka". In 1995, AS "Multibanka" became the member of SWIFT, and the user of information system REUTERS, thereby ensuring technical support for the operation on the foreign exchange and money markets. In November 1996, AS "Multibanka" received principal membership in «EUROPAY INTERNATIONAL», transformed later into «MasterCard International», and on the foregoing basis, it offers customers a wide range of card products. In addition to the Association of Commercial Banks of Latvia, AS "Meridian Trade Bank" is also a member of the Riga Stock Exchange and Central Depository.
