Bank history

MKB BANK (Magyar Külkereskedelmi Bank) was established in 1950 to participate in international payments and commercial financing, particularly for managing banking services related to foreign trade. In 1987 the bank transferred to a two-level structure which allowed to obtain a full commercial banking license and develop new types of activities. By the end of the 90s, the bank offers its clients a full spectre of credit services. Between 1994-1996 German investors helped to privatise the bank when Bayerische Landesbank Girozentrale became the main shareholder.
